Snowflake and Lumen plan private network path for regulated enterprise data

Snowflake and Lumen plan private network path for regulated enterprise data Image: Primary
Snowflake and Lumen Technologies plan to connect distributed enterprise data to Snowflake over Lumen's private network, targeting regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, telecom and government. Snowflake's Data Connectivity Proxy would run as a container image on Lumen infrastructure, with Snowflake Openflow moving data from supported sources into customers' Snowflake accounts. The companies say the planned path would keep data off the public internet and provide preconfigured access at customer setup. Snowflake classifies the future offerings as forward-looking statements rather than delivery commitments.
