AI Proteins said it signed a research and licensing agreement with an Astellas Pharma affiliate that makes it eligible for over $400 million in upfront and milestone payments, plus royalties on resulting product sales. The collaboration will use computational protein design to create therapeutic miniproteins against multiple undisclosed targets. Astellas receives an exclusive worldwide license to candidates emerging from the collaboration and will handle subsequent development, regulatory work and commercialization. The payment total includes milestones rather than representing cash already received.
