Renewable Hydrogen Enables On's CleanCloud Sportswear With Infinium eNaphtha
Image: Primary Infinium announced on July 16, 2026 its supply relationship with Borouge International and sportswear brand On to support the commercial launch of On's CleanCloud technology. Infinium said its eNaphtha, made from waste CO2 and renewable hydrogen, provides the renewable feedstock used to manufacture EVA material in On's Cloud X 5. The Cloud X 5 is the world's first commercially scaled sportswear midsole made using captured carbon emissions. Infinium said eNaphtha is produced at its Project Pathfinder facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. Beginning in 2024, Infinium shipped commercial volumes of eNaphtha to Borouge International's operations in Porvoo, Finland, where it is converted into e-ethylene and then EVA. On is scaling to over one million pairs of Cloud X 5 shoes, achieving that four years ahead of its original target. Every step of the supply chain is ISCC PLUS certified. Infinium said it will expand eNaphtha production through its second facility, Project Roadrunner in West Texas, now under construction.
