DaltonTx says Gates Foundation grant will fund AI tuberculosis research

DaltonTx says Gates Foundation grant will fund AI tuberculosis research Image: Primary
DaltonTx says it has received a Gates Foundation grant to fund computational screening for tuberculosis drug discovery. The project will use protein structure prediction, machine learning and physics-based modelling to analyse hundreds of essential and vulnerable genes in the bacterium that causes tuberculosis. The programme will develop open-access models, workflows and datasets, with Ersilia helping make findings accessible to researchers across the Global South. It will evaluate model predictions against existing biological and chemical data while seeking chemical starting points for future therapies.
