ASML plans price increases as chipmaking demand strains capacity

ASML Image: Primary
ASML said on October 14 that it will raise prices starting in 2027, with the full effect arriving in 2028. CEO Christophe Fouquet said demand could exceed capacity despite previously announced plans to increase capacity by 30% in 2027 and another 30% in 2028. Customers are already looking to place orders for advanced chipmaking tools for 2029 and 2030. ASML also raised its full-year sales forecast from at least €43 billion to €44-45 billion. Its customers include Samsung, Intel and TSMC, making equipment availability a constraint on their production expansion.
