Huawei and Qualcomm agree to broad cross-licenses and U.S. patent sale

Huawei and Qualcomm agree to broad cross-licenses and U.S. patent sale Image: Primary
Huawei and Qualcomm announced a multi-year agreement to cross-license patent portfolios covering 5G, compute, AI and networking. Huawei said the deal also includes Qualcomm's purchase of certain Huawei U.S. patents in compute, AI, networking and other technologies. The agreement extends across both companies' portfolios rather than a single technology. The companies said the transaction will close after the necessary regulatory approvals and described their licensing practices as consistent with fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory principles.
