TSMC is evaluating Texas for additional U.S. chip production and discussing a role in Elon Musk's planned Terafab complex, executives said during Thursday's earnings conference, AP reported. CEO C.C. Wei said teams had visited Texas to assess options, but the plan remained under deliberation. Wei said a Texas plant must be run by TSMC. Musk has said his team would build and run Terafab, with TSMC at most subleasing part of it. TSMC reported that demand still exceeds its production capability and said spending between 2026 and 2028 would be significantly higher than in the preceding three years.
