German tax software startup mika raises €6 million
Image: Primary Berlin-based mika has raised €6 million in seed funding to expand its accounting and tax platform for small German limited companies. Smedvig Ventures led the round, with participation from Wecken & Cie., individual investors and existing backers.
The company says its software reads receipts and payments, categorizes transactions, and prepares bookkeeping, VAT returns, annual accounts and tax filings. In-house accountants check results and handle complex cases. Mika says more than 750 companies now use the service, up from around 400 at the start of the year. It does not yet provide individual tax advice through the platform and relies on licensed advisers in its network for that work.
